Battery, charger and cordless-tool safety

Use the battery, tool and charger as an approved system. Stop using equipment that is damaged, leaking, smoking or abnormally hot.

Independent reference. ToolBattery is not a manufacturer or authorized service center. Model revision, region, condition and the latest manual may change the answer. Do not use an unapproved adapter or modified battery.

Before use or charging

  • Read the exact model and regional manual.
  • Use only a pack and charger the manufacturer supports for the product.
  • Check the physical charger AC input label before using an imported unit.
  • Check battery condition and keep the charger ventilation unobstructed.

Adapters and modifications

A third-party adapter fitting into a tool is not manufacturer approval. Do not bypass a protection circuit, modify terminals or attempt to repair a lithium-ion pack yourself. Approved manufacturer accessories have their own limited instructions.

If a product looks unsafe

Disconnect and stop use when safe to do so, keep people away from smoke or heat, and follow emergency guidance and the manufacturer’s instructions. For persistent faults or damage, use an authorized service channel and check model-specific recalls.

Limits of this guide
