Can a third-party battery adapter prove compatibility?

No. An adapter’s physical fit does not establish manufacturer approval for the battery, tool or charger combination. Treat an unlisted setup as unverified.

Independent reference. ToolBattery is not a manufacturer or authorized service center. Model revision, region, condition and the latest manual may change the answer. Do not use an unapproved adapter or modified battery.

Distinguish approved accessories

Some manufacturers sell specifically approved accessories for limited tasks. For example, Makita’s ADP10 is a documented adapter for using an XGT charger with LXT batteries. That does not make LXT batteries directly interchangeable with XGT tools.

Check the whole electrical system

Tool communication, discharge protection, pack temperature and charging control matter. The US CPSC describes batteries, products and chargers as a system that must be tested for intended use.

Avoid improvised conversion

Do not use a seller claim or an adapter’s shape as a substitute for an official model-specific instruction. Stop if the combination has no manufacturer support or if a product shows heat or damage.
