RYOBI 40V battery fit: why a broad platform claim has model exceptions

A RYOBI 40V system label does not guarantee that every pack housing fits every older tool. The manufacturer fit sheet records exact exclusions and footnotes that take priority over a broad platform description.

Look for the exact battery and tool rows

The research catalog preserves model-pair exclusions from the physical-fit sheet. Some rows describe fit, not runtime or performance. Search both printed model numbers before buying or using a pack.

Treat an excluded pair as excluded

A battery may have the expected voltage and still be too large for the receiver of a listed older tool. Do not force the battery or alter a latch to make it fit.

Use the current manual for your revision

The fit sheet is a useful model-level source, but product revisions can change. Check the exact tool manual and battery case markings; an unlisted pair remains unknown here.
